Dierks Bentley Performed "Dead Or Alive" On Stage With Bon Jovi
It's always fun to see somebody famous walk on stage at a concert and sing along with the headliner. That's what DIERKS BENTLEY did last Friday in Louisville, Kentucky when he joined BON JOVI for their song "Wanted Dead Or Alive".
JON BON JOVI started the song on his own, and then invited Dierks to the stage. Dierks did a nice job, and then when it was over he blurted out, quote, "That was the quote in my yearbook."

Sasquatch Watch For Lake Anna?
Keep your eyes open for a 10-13 foot tall walking fur ball known as Big Foot, Sasquatch, or Walking Carpet around the Lake Anna Area. According to Billy Willard (Sasquatch Watch of Virginia) that's where some reports have come in that people have seen the elusive beast. Mr. Willard says "We believe we may be close to some kind of major discovery" referring to some type of evidence that Sasquatch does exist. What type of evidence? You'll find out in the interview with Mr. Willard on Tuesday (7/23/10) in the 6 o'clock hour where we get some answers, and get some suggestions on what to do if we see that "Walking Carpet".

Welcome to Lindsay's New Living Conditions
Whatever time Lindsay serves . . . whether it be 90 days, three weeks or less . . . she'll do so mainly in a 12-by-8-foot cell.
Lindsay will NOT be able to smoke . . . which is going to be tough for her, since she's been known to burn two packs a day. She also won't be allowed to shower every day.
Lindsay will only get to leave her cell for about an hour a day, and she'll only be allowed visitors two days a week.
Other than that, though, it's not exactly breaking rocks on the chain gang. ABC legal analyst Dana Cole says, quote, "It's not going to be the worst situation imaginable, far from it. It's just going to be boring basically."

"Vampire Facelifts" Use Your Own Blood To Get Rid Of Your Wrinkles
Botox has proven that millions of people will willingly inject POISON into their face to get rid of wrinkles. So I guess we can't be surprised that many of those same people are fine with injecting HUMAN BLOOD into their face for the same reason.
The newest trend in over-the-top wrinkle removal is a procedure called Selphyl . . . but it's nicknamed the "vampire facelift."
In the procedure, a cosmetic surgeon draws some of your blood . . . extracts some of the platelets and proteins from the blood . . . and injects those back into your face to smooth out your wrinkles.
The process is FDA-approved . . . it seems to be extremely safe . . . it's non-invasive and non-surgical . . . and since people are getting injected with their own blood, it doesn't feel like you're putting something unnatural into your body.
There are some real drawbacks, though. One, it won't work for everyone . . . it's most effective on older people whose skin is looser and thinner. Two, since it's a new procedure, no one really knows the long-term effects.
Three, you can only use it for spot treatments . . . you can't give enough blood safely to take care of your entire face. And finally, it costs $1,100 to $1,500 for each wrinkle they take care of . . . and the wrinkles come back in about 15 months.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, this year, 55 million people will have cosmetic procedures. About 97% of them will be non-surgical procedures, like vampire facelifts.

A Car For The Blind?
Wow! Researchers at Virginia Tech University are getting close to finishing a prototype of the first-ever CAR FOR THE BLIND. From the photo they released, it kind of looks like a souped-up ATV with a big roll cage.
The car is equipped with sensors that constantly transmit info to the driver, so he or she is aware of traffic. Right now, it seems unlikely that these cars will ever leave the prototype phase and actually hit the streets, but here's a pic of the car...
Coca-Cola...Not Just For Drinking Any More...
The secret ingredients in Coca-Cola are apparently WAY more MAGICAL than we thought. There's a website called WiseBread about how to live the good life on the cheap, and they put together a list of 51 different uses for Coca-Cola.
Some are obvious, like cooking with it or relieving an upset stomach. But some of them are crazy . . . like removing blood stands, curing a jellyfish sting, moisturizing your skin, cleaning tile grout, and curling your hair.

WHAT DOES YOUR PET"S NAME REVEAL ABOUT YOU?
1) Human name -- You're a warm, nurturing person who considers your pet a member of the family. Just like with your other loved ones, you're attentive to his or her needs, and you lavish your pet with affection.
2) Name to match appearance -- You're an easy going person with a practical outlook. So it figures you'd find a name like Shaggy or Spot that reflects your pet's looks and personality. After all, he or she is as individual as anyone else in your circle of family and friends.
3) Famous name -- You're a self assured type who loves flaunting your knowledge of pop culture, including naming your animal after a famous person. Your confident air also attracts people with the same flair.
4) Old fashioned name -- Although your pal's moniker may be Fido, you can't deny that you have a terrific imagination. In fact, using a name that's no longer popular emphasizes your creative side along with your infectious sense of humor.
5) Unique name -- You're an extrovert who loves to be the center of attention and giving your pet an offbeat name is a sure way to gain the spotlight. People are so intrigued, you find yourself in spontaneous conversations wherever you go.

Got a Great Pick Up Line? Blake Shelton Wants It!
I'm not inclined to help artists shamefully pimp their records, but this idea is kind of interesting. BLAKE SHELTON is holding a contest where fans phone in their best, or funniest, pick-up line. It's a tie-in to his current single, "It's All About Tonight".
You'll get a free download of the song just by calling in with your pickup line at 615-942-0716. You'll also qualify for a prize package. The winners will be picked in August. CLICK HERE to hear some of the latest pickup line entries here.

His Spidey Sense Is Tingling...
The "Spider-Man" movie franchise is getting a reboot, like all franchises seem to do these days, and TOBEY MAGUIRE is OUT. Yesterday, Columbia Pictures announced they've found their new Peter Parker-slash-Spider-Man after a worldwide search.
And he is . . . a relatively unknown 26-year-old British guy named Andrew Garfield.
Andrew has only been in a few movies over here . . . he was Francis Weston in "The Other Boleyn Girl" and Anton in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" . . . but in England, he's considered a rising star.
Right now the first new "Spider-Man" featuring Andrew is tentatively scheduled to come out in exactly two years and one day: July 3rd, 2012.

Songwriters: The Tragedy In The Gulf Needs A Song.
The devastation in the Gulf of Mexico cuts across so many lives -- from fishermen to oil workers to tourists -- and so many places -- from beachfront hotels to bird sanctuaries.
We've all been moved by the photos and personal stories of loss, disappointment, despair and, yes, hope.
What we haven't heard is a song that captures some of those feelings.
So we're calling on our readers to try their hand at capturing the mood of the moment in an original song.
One thing we've found in our ongoing photo series on the changing seasons is that there are a lot of talented folks across the country with something to share.
For those of you inclined to music and lyric writing, we invite you to watch the 2 1/2 minute slide show above (or click here) of the Gulf oil and write an original song to accompany it.
You pick the style: From country music to New Orleans jazz to Jimmy Buffett with an edge. In short, whatever moves you. CLICK HERE for the rules.
