TAYLOR SWIFT has just debuted at #1 on the Digital Songs chart, with 297,000 downloads of her new song, "Mine". And that's only with four days of sales because "Mine" was rushed to retailers after it was leaked online last week.

What's even more impressive about that is "Mine" now has the fourth-best digital sales week of the year . . . and the eighth-best digital sales week EVER. All in just four days.

(Eminem had this year's best digital sales week with 379,000 downloads of "Not Afraid". Then Em's "Love the Way You Lie" had 338,000 downloads in one week followed by Taylor's "Today Was a Fairytale" which enjoyed a week of 325,000.)

Meanwhile, "Mine" has also debuted at #3 over on the Hot 100 chart, which makes Taylor the second female artist in history to debut multiple tracks in the Top 5 in the same calendar year. "Today Was a Fairytale" debuted at #2 back in February.

Dead Wrong!

Anyone who's ever dealt with a meter maid or a parking enforcement cop knows one thing: There's NO excuse that's good enough to get them to let you off. And this story is even MORE proof of that.

Last week in Seattle, a parking enforcement officer . . . whose name wasn't released . . . saw a car parked in a two-hour spot for more than two hours. When she went up to the car, she saw a guy inside, sitting behind the wheel.

She knocked on the window twice. He didn't wake up. So she decided he was a sound sleeper, and gave him a $42 ticket. She was dead wrong.

About 40 minutes later, the man's girlfriend found the car, with the ticket on the windshield. Turns out, the guy wasn't a sound sleeper . . . HE WAS DEAD.

He's 36-year-old Derek Eldridge, and the police are still trying to figure out his cause of death.

As for the ticket . . . according to a sergeant from the Seattle police, the officer who gave Derek the ticket did NOTHING WRONG. Even though he didn't wake up when she knocked, there was no reason for her to suspect he was dead.

He also didn't say whether or not the ticket would be waived.

And on a recent episode, a woman got excited when she saw the camera because she knew she'd be on TV. She just yelled "County Law" over and over again, and didn't seem to care that her SISTER was the one being arrested.

Sometimes greatest hits albums are just a bunch of songs stuffed into a package in order to make money. Okay, they always are. But occasionally they're worth talking about . . . like with BRAD PAISLEY'S upcoming "Hits Alive".

This is Brad's FIRST greatest hits package . . . and it's definitely overdue. He's had 17 number one singles in almost a dozen years. We don't know the track listing yet, but we do know it's a double-disc set.

One disc will feature studio versions of his biggest hits, while the other will be live stuff taken from his concerts. "Hits Alive" drops November 2nd.

A while back we learned that TIM MCGRAW was the Top-Selling Country Artist of the Decade. (--He sold 24.8 million copies from January 1st, 2000 to December 31st, 2009. TOBY KEITH came in second, selling 24.5 million units.)

So it only makes sense that he was also the MOST PLAYED country artist of the decade. According to Nielsen, Tim McGraw had 7,965,000 radio spins in the decade, which was, of course, more than any artist. No word who came in second.

People Are More GaGa Than Swift?

The MTV Video Music Award nominees were announced yesterday and LADY GAGA led with a total of 13 nominations. That's more VMA nominations than has been received by any other artist in a single year. EMINEM had the second most this year, with eight.

Gaga received 10 nominations for "Bad Romance" . . . and three for "Telephone", her collaboration with BEYONCÉ. Meanwhile, Beyoncé got five nominations for "Video Phone" . . . which was HER song featuring Gaga.

It's probably also worth noting that TAYLOR SWIFT and KANYE WEST are both up for one award each. It was at last year's VMA's that Kanye stole the mic from Taylor after she won Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me". The VMAs are on September 12th at 9PM on MTV.

SUPERMAN Saves A Family...For Real...

Who says SUPERMAN doesn't exist? He LITERALLY just saved a family from absolute disaster.

The family, who asked the press to keep their name and their location confidential, was facing FORECLOSURE . . . they couldn't afford the payments their home and the bank was getting ready to bounce them out.

As they packed up their belongings to leave the house, they found an old box in their basement containing about nine comic books.

One of those comic books was "Action Comics No. 1" . . . a.k.a. the comic book that featured the first appearance of Superman . . . a.k.a. the most valuable comic book OF ALL TIME.

They looked it up online and found that copies of that book have sold for up to $1.5 MILLION at auction. So they contacted a comic book auction expert named Vincent Zurzolo who runs the website ComicConnect.com.

He examined the comic and gave it a rating of "very good" based on its condition. Since it's not perfectly mint, it should only make about $250,000 at auction . . . not quite $1.5 million, but still enough for the family to easily save their house.

And while that's amazing for them . . . unfortunately, most Americans DON'T have the most valuable comic book in the world in their basements. In the first six months of this year, more than 1.6 million homes were in foreclosure.

Whatever time Lindsay serves . . . whether it be 90 days, three weeks or less . . . she'll do so mainly in a 12-by-8-foot cell.

Lindsay will NOT be able to smoke . . . which is going to be tough for her, since she's been known to burn two packs a day. She also won't be allowed to shower every day.

Lindsay will only get to leave her cell for about an hour a day, and she'll only be allowed visitors two days a week.

Other than that, though, it's not exactly breaking rocks on the chain gang. ABC legal analyst Dana Cole says, quote, "It's not going to be the worst situation imaginable, far from it. It's just going to be boring basically."

"Vampire Facelifts" Use Your Own Blood To Get Rid Of Your Wrinkles

Botox has proven that millions of people will willingly inject POISON into their face to get rid of wrinkles. So I guess we can't be surprised that many of those same people are fine with injecting HUMAN BLOOD into their face for the same reason.

The newest trend in over-the-top wrinkle removal is a procedure called Selphyl . . . but it's nicknamed the "vampire facelift."

In the procedure, a cosmetic surgeon draws some of your blood . . . extracts some of the platelets and proteins from the blood . . . and injects those back into your face to smooth out your wrinkles.

The process is FDA-approved . . . it seems to be extremely safe . . . it's non-invasive and non-surgical . . . and since people are getting injected with their own blood, it doesn't feel like you're putting something unnatural into your body.

There are some real drawbacks, though. One, it won't work for everyone . . . it's most effective on older people whose skin is looser and thinner. Two, since it's a new procedure, no one really knows the long-term effects.

Three, you can only use it for spot treatments . . . you can't give enough blood safely to take care of your entire face. And finally, it costs $1,100 to $1,500 for each wrinkle they take care of . . . and the wrinkles come back in about 15 months.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, this year, 55 million people will have cosmetic procedures. About 97% of them will be non-surgical procedures, like vampire facelifts.

Wow! Researchers at Virginia Tech University are getting close to finishing a prototype of the first-ever CAR FOR THE BLIND. From the photo they released, it kind of looks like a souped-up ATV with a big roll cage.

The car is equipped with sensors that constantly transmit info to the driver, so he or she is aware of traffic. Right now, it seems unlikely that these cars will ever leave the prototype phase and actually hit the streets, but here's a pic of the car...

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is related to Vlad-the Impaler, the Transylvanian leader who served as the inspiration for the main character in Bram Stoker”s Dracula, according to genealogists.

Experts at Ancestry.com found that Pattinson and Vlad III Dracula are connected through their relationship to the British royal family.

While Prince William and Prince Harry are Pattinson’s distant cousins, Vlad the Impaler was their distant uncle, reports News.com.au.

“Tracing Pattinson’s family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to the Twilight Saga,” Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist, said.

Michael Jackson Has 273 Songs To Be Released?

Friday marks the one year anniversary of the singers death and guy named Howard Mann says he has the masters to 273 songs by MICHAEL JACKSON . . . both solo and with his brothers . . . and he plans to release them to the public.

The tapes were in a warehouse full of Michael Jackson's belongings that went up for auction after Joe Jackson failed to pay a storage bill.

Mann says most of them were performances from a variety series the Jacksons did for CBS in 1975.

And he says that the Jacksons were between record contracts at the time, which means they're his and he can do whatever he wants with them.

But an attorney for Michael's estate says those songs are Michael's intellectual property, and thus they belong to the estate. He plans to sue Mann if he releases them.

I guess there are WAY more people than we realized who don't like the guv'ment comin' on their property askin' them all sorta personal questions 'n such.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, since May 1st, when census takers started going door-to-door . . . 409 of them have been ATTACKED.

About 48 million U.S. residents . . . or about one out of every six people . . . didn't fill out and mail in their census forms. So more than 635,000 Census takers have been going door-to-door trying to count them. Of the 409 incidents . . .

--132 people have pulled a weapon.

--88 have taken a swing at the census counter.

--24 have sic'ed their dogs or other animals.

--12 have fired gunshots.

--And 12 have KIDNAPPED and held the census taker against his will.

The Census Bureau doesn't speculate WHY people attacked its counters . . . so we don't know if the attacks were by illegals afraid to be counted, people who don't want the government knowing their personal info, or people with other reasons.

They did say that this isn't a new phenomenon . . . every 10 years, when they do a full census and send counters around, there are a small number of attacks.

If you're the kind of person who carries around a LUCKY CHARM, congratulations: There's now scientific evidence that shows you DON'T deserve to be mocked incessantly. In fact . . . keep on carting that moon rock or rabbit's foot around.

A study at the University of Cologne in Germany found that people who are superstitious actually DO perform better on tasks and tests than people who aren't.

The researchers ran several different tests, and each one finished with the same result: The superstitious people ruled.

In one test, the researchers had people on a putting green. They told half the people they were getting a ball that had been lucky all day, and told the other half "this is the ball everyone has used so far."

The people who were told they had a lucky ball made an average of 6.42 putts out of 10 . . . the other people made an average of 4.75 out of 10.

In another test, they took people who had lucky charms and brought them into a room. Half of the people had their charms taken away to, quote, "be photographed" . . . the other half got to keep their lucky charms with them.

Then, all of the people played a memory game. The people who got to keep their lucky charms performed MUCH better than the people who didn't.

The researchers say the effect happens because superstitions about luck actually give people more confidence . . . help them set higher goals . . . and actually encourage them to work harder.

Have you heard the story about the woman who left her DOGS more money in her will than her son? If not, here's what you need to know:

In March, 67-year-old Gail Posner died from cancer. And when her only child, 46-year-old Bret Carr, finally got a look at the will, he was shocked to find out his mom had decided to leave three times more money to her dogs than to him.

We're not dealing with small amounts of money here. Gail left $3 MILLION to her DOGS . . . and $1 MILLION to Bret. But it gets worse: She left another $26 MILLION to her bodyguards, maids, and personal trainer.

Gail got her fortune from her father, Victor Posner, who was a real estate mogul. He died from pneumonia in 2002.

-So now, Bret has decided to SUE to overturn his mom's will. He says she MUST have been tricked by her staff to leave them . . . and the dogs . . . so much money.

According to Bret, quote, "She never would've done that unless she was under extreme influence."

His claim to the money isn't rock solid, though . . . he had an on-again, off-again relationship with his mom while she battled with addictions to drugs and alcohol.

As for the $3 MILLION dogs, they're two Chihuahuas that wear Cartier collars and dog clothing . . . so they'll probably need that money to keep living the lifestyle they've grown accustomed to. (???)

And actually, this isn't the first time the Posner family has freaked out over a will, either. When Victor died in 2002, he willed his money to his former girlfriend instead of his children. They sued and eventually got a $14 MILLION settlement.

Swim With Pantyhose On...Why You Ask?...

This is strange . . . but probably a pretty useful trick if you're going swimming in a place that's known for jellyfish. If you want to avoid getting stung, try putting on PANTYHOSE.

Most jellyfish have very short stingers that can't even get through the mesh of the pantyhose. And ones with longer stingers usually don't sting unless they're triggered by contact with skin . . . and the pantyhose prevent that too.

So what about our upper body? I guess a gurdle would suffice...sure will look funny...OR start a new trend!

Mexican Government - "It's Safe",Then The Media Was Promptly Kidnapped

At this point, there's not a donkey show in the world that could get me to visit Mexico. I just feel like all us gringos are getting kidnapped the second we step across the border.

Well . . . the Mexican government HATES that we're all scared to travel there, and they decided to do something about it. So they took a group of 13 reporters on a tour of southwest Mexico to prove just how safe and tourist-friendly the country is.

And . . . the reporters were promptly KIDNAPPED.

Surprisingly enough, the kidnappers weren't drug lords . . . they were MACHETE-WIELDING Nahua Indians, who are in a serious territorial war with other indigenous groups over land all over the country.

A group of 15 people who were filming a beer commercial for Corona were also kidnapped by the Nahua.

Fortunately, all 28 people were released after the Nahua questioned them and decided they weren't a threat . . . but the Nahua refused to give back their cameras and other equipment.

The U.S. State Department still has a travel warning reminding all of us to be very careful when we travel to Mexico . . . especially the most dangerous areas like the southwest.

Spongebob Squarepants - Saving Lives

Months ago a teenage girl saved her friend from choking to death using the Heimlich maneuver she saw on SpongeBob Squarpants (a cartoon on The Cartoon Network). AND NOW...he's done it again, but this time with a younger viewer.
In Washington Township, New Jersey, an eight-year-old boy saved a five-year-old boy from drowning . . . ALL thanks to "SpongeBob".

Both of the boys were with their families at a neighborhood party. The five-year-old boy, Andrew Gentile, waded into a small lake where some of the kids were swimming.

But the lake was deeper than he thought, and when his feet couldn't touch the bottom he started panicking.

Eight-year-old Reese Ronceray saw him, ran into the lake, swam over to Andrew, fished him out of the water . . . and took him to shore by wrapping one arm under his armpits, and using the other arm to swim.

And Reese learned that technique from SpongeBob, who apparently did it in an episode when he was saving a drowning friend. Once the boys were on the shore, Andrew was fine . . . he didn't need CPR, he was just shaken up.

In honor of Reese, his elementary school held "Reese Ronceray Day" this week . . . and the mayor of Washington Township is planning to give him special recognition.

A Man Spotted Himself . . . Randomly . . . In The Background Of His Fiancee's Childhood Disney Vacation Photo

Even though this REALLY stretches the definition of what does and doesn't qualify as "news" . . . it's an absolutely INCREDIBLE coincidence.

Alex and Donna Voutsinas are newlyweds in Boynton Beach, Florida. A few days before their wedding, they were going through their old family photos, and found one of Donna's family trip to Walt Disney World when she was just a little girl.

Alex looked at the background of the photo and spotted something incredible: A guy who looked like his FATHER.

They looked closer and realized it WAS Alex's father . . . and he was pushing a stroller with a baby ALEX in it. In other words, Alex was randomly in the background of his future wife's Disney World vacation photo.

It's even more of an incredible coincidence since Alex's family lived in Montreal, Canada, at the time, and happened to be taking a rare trip to Disney World. Once Alex was an adult he moved to Florida and met Donna at work.

-Donna says, quote, "I was glad he proposed before [we found] the picture, because I know that it was because he loves me and not because he thought it was meant to be, it was fate."

Lead In YOUR Kids Fruit Drinks???

We hate to sound like terrible local news anchors here, but this works for them, so we're going to steal it: Something in your house might be POISONING YOUR CHILDREN.

But . . . unlike the local news, we're not going to make you sit around through 21 minutes of garbage and filler to find out what the SILENT KILLER is. It's fruit drinks and snacks. You're welcome.

According to a study by a nonprofit group called the Environmental Law Foundation, more than 85% of the fruit drinks and snacks they tested contained lead.

The state of California has some of the strictest laws about chemicals in food. In California, the "safe" threshold for lead is half of a micro gram per day.

More than 85% of the products tested in this study had at least one sample containing MORE lead than that.

Now . . . before you PANIC, remember that not every sample of every product was high in lead. So if your kid's eating one serving of a "dangerous" fruit cocktail every day, he probably won't be poisoned.

But you should stay informed on which products do contain lead . . . so you can make sure your kid isn't taking down TONS on a daily basis.

I don't know if I'm comfortable wearing underwear that's smarter than I am.

A team of scientists at the University of California at San Diego have invented the first-ever pair of SMART UNDERWEAR . . . a pair of men's briefs that can actually SAVE YOUR LIFE.

The underwear's brain is in its elastic waistband. That waistband contains an electronic biosensor that measures your blood pressure, heart rate and vital signs. If you're hurt, it can even release painkillers right into your body.

The project was funded by the U.S. military, so the first people who will get the smart underwear will be the troops. (I mean . . . it's not body armor . . . but at least it's something, right?)

Joseph Wang is the nano-engineering professor at UCSD who led the project. He says, quote, "[These] monitor the injury of soldiers. The goal is to develop minimally-invasive sensors that can locate and identify the type of injury."

Down the road, he thinks these could expand beyond the military, quote, "for remote monitoring of the elderly, alerting for any potential stroke, diabetic changes and [any] other biomedical scenario."

I wonder if they still work great after you have them long enough to wear HOLES IN THEM…if nothing else - at least it provides great air flow !

Louis Vuitton Purse Drags Woman?

This is the kind of story that makes a guy say, "Why didn't she just let go of her purse?" and makes a woman say, "I totally get it."

On Tuesday, a 22-year-old woman was walking in downtown Edinburgh, Scotland, when a car pulled up next to her. (The woman's name wasn't released.) One of the three men in the car called out to her and she walked over.

When she got close, one of the guys reached through the window and grabbed her Louis Vuitton purse. The car sped off . . . but that bag is EXPENSIVE, and the woman wasn't about to let it go that easily.

For our male listeners, Louis Vuitton bags cost anywhere from $650 to several thousand dollars.

So she held on, DRAGGING behind the car, as they tried to shake her off. When the guy holding her purse realized she wasn't going anywhere, he decided to let go.

Somehow, the woman wasn't hurt badly, but she did go to the hospital to get treated for some minor injuries.

The police haven't caught the guys in the car just yet, but they're on the lookout for big Manley cross dressers without purses.

Which Cities Are The Smartest, And Which Are The Dumbest?

Now it's time to feel better about ourselves by calling other people dumb! An economist named Rob Pitingolo put together this list of the 52 largest cities in the U.S., ranking them from SMARTEST to DUMBEST.

-It's not a perfect list . . . he didn't go around and actually give I.Q. tests to people in these cities . . . it's entirely based on the number of people with college degrees per square mile in each of the cities.

The smartest city turned out to be San Francisco, with 7,031 bachelor degrees and graduate degrees per square mile.

The rest of the top 10 smartest cities are: New York City . . . Boston . . . Washington, D.C. . . . Seattle . . . Chicago . . . Minneapolis . . . Providence, Rhode Island . . . Philadelphia . . . and Miami.

And the "winner" for dumbest city is . . . Oklahoma City, with 159 degrees per square mile.

How Dangerous Is It To Be On Your Cell and Drive?

At this point, we all know how dangerous it is to use our cell phones while we're driving. But since 81% of us totally IGNORE all that and still talk while we're driving . . . here are even MORE stats about why it's the most dangerous thing we all do.

According to Dr. Amy Ship . . . who works as a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston . . . 28% of all car accidents in the U.S. are caused by someone using a cell phone while driving.

And talking on a cell phone while driving is 400% riskier than driving undistracted.

Ship also says that talking on a cell phone in the car is about as dangerous as driving while you're drunk or drugged up.

The Boston Consulting Group put out its annual report on wealth around the world . . . where they rank all of the countries based on their percentage of millionaires.

And the U.S. finished in seventh place. Even though we've got 4.7 million millionaire households . . . which is BY FAR the most in the world . . . that's only 4.1% of our households.

Singapore is has the most millionaires, percentage wise. It has a population of 4.7 million . . . and 11.4% of the households in Singapore are worth at least $1 MILLION.

The full top 10, based on percentage of millionaires, goes: Singapore, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, United States, Belgium, Israel, Taiwan.

The countries with the MOST millionaires, not the highest percentage, are the U.S., Japan, China, the United Kingdom and Germany.

The number of millionaire households worldwide went up by 14% last year, to 11.2 million . . . that's about where the total was before the global recession.

Less than 1% of the households worldwide are worth at least $1 MILLION . . . but those households own 38% of the world's wealth.

The "New York Daily News" secretly swabbed the iPads on display at four different Apple Stores around New York City, and found they're just CRAWLING with the diseases and bacteria of everyone who's touched them before you.

Two of the iPads had the bacteria that causes staph infections . . . two had a type of nasty YEAST . . . and two had bacteria that cause nasty rashes. So . . . if you are going to touch them . . . WASH YOUR HANDS when you're done.

SHANIA TWAIN is now completely unshackled from her guru (slash) ex-husband MUTT LANGE. According to "People", the necessary documents were filed this week in Switzerland that finalized their divorce.

They have one son together, eight-year-old Eja. (--pronounced Asia) There's no word yet on the custody arrangements.

Shania hasn't released a statement, and I doubt she will. She's notoriously private. But her friends are yapping away to "People" . . . mostly saying Shania's still deeply involved with her studly Swiss boyfriend, FREDERIC THIEBAUD.

Shania and Frederic were together last month at the Swiss Red Cross Ball and a friend who was there said, quote, "She was radiantly happy. Her happiness certainly shone through. They are a great addition to each other's lives."

7 Year Old Looks to Raise $20K

After 7 year old Josh Dazet found out his Mom (Marie) had breast cancer - he was determined to do something about it, so he formed a team to raise money in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event on June 5th. Josh said "I wanted to do the Race for the Cure for mommy and all the other mommies who have breast cancer," says Josh, "to help all the mommies to find a good way for a cure".

Marie, 41 and a divorced mother of four, has been fighting an aggressive form of breast cancer for 10 months. After Josh heard ads for the 3.1-mile race that benefits cancer research, he started pestering his mom to put together a team. He never let up till a team was formed and now team Josh has 18 members who have raised more than $5,600 toward their $20,000 goal.

A few months ago, Mattel released a new line of Barbie dolls called the "Back to Basics" collection.

There are 12 dolls in the collection, and they're all dressed in stylish, black cocktail attire. Which is fine except one of the dolls . . . the number ten . . . is wearing a dress with a plunging neckline that reveals some serious, bowling-ball cleavage.

Anyway, now some parents are upset about the doll. They say they don't want their daughters playing with a doll that encourages the fake-breasted stripper look. Mattel has refused to comment.

If You Missed it - Your New American Idol Is...

LEE DEWYZE edged out CRYSTAL BOWERSOX to win "American Idol" last night. But it really wasn't about the boring contestants. The show was mostly about SIMON COWELL and the 18 trillion guest stars who showed up to perform.

The show went with its usual formula of having a contestant or contestants start singing a song . . . then having the artist who made that song popular come out and finish it off with them.

They kicked off the night the RIGHT way with ALICE COOPER . . . who busted onstage to add some much-needed ROCK AND ROLL to the cast's rendition of "School's Out".

Other performers included Christina Aguilera, Alanis Morissette, Chicago, Hall and Oates, the surviving members of the Bee Gees, Michael McDonald, Joe Cocker and Janet Jackson . . . (--Who looks frighteningly like her brother Jermaine with that new, short hairdo.)

But the biggest surprise had to be BRET MICHAELS . . . who did "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with CASEY JAMES. And he looked and sounded A LOT better than he did at the "Celebrity Apprentice" finale this past Sunday.

They also brought back a very confused-sounding GENERAL LARRY PLATT for a more high-tech version of his now-classic groove, "Pants on the Ground".

And he was joined by a special guest star: WILLIAM HUNG. (--Please. We're WAY over William Hung. What about the song's most famous singer, BRETT FAVRE??? If HE had shown up, it would have been AMAZING.)

But again, the night was mostly about Simon. There were several "comedic" video packages dedicated to him, and DANE COOK did a song incorporating some of the stuff he's said to crappy contestants over the years.

Then PAULA ABDUL made her return to the "Idol" stage to say goodbye.

She tried a little standup (slash) roasting, but she was serious when she said, quote, "I love all the fun we had together, I love all the laughter we shared together." She added, quote, "[The show] is not going to be the same without you, but as only I can tell you, it will go on." Then, all the previous "Idol" winners . . . except DAVID COOK, for some reason . . . started up a song, and were soon joined by a stage full of other former contestants . . . including THE INCOMPARABLE JUSTIN GUARINI!!!

(--For those of you who don't remember them all, the other winners, in order, were: Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, and Kris Allen. David won the seventh season.)

Simon himself then took the stage, and admitted he was a lot more emotional than he thought he'd be. He said, quote, "I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support, the fun and your sense of humor. That's what's been the best part. It's been a blast. Thank you."

Oh Brother, now I've heard it all...Queen Elizabeth is planning to knight Simon Cowell for his charity work and for generating millions for the British record industry. A source says British Prime Minister Gordon Brown pushed for the honor. "Gordon Brown was very keen for Simon to get proper recognition for his work. He was particularly impressed by the way Simon responded to his suggestion to release the record for Haiti by dropping everything to ensure it was a success. And there's also no doubt Simon has brought a great deal of happiness to millions of people with his music and TV shows."
I hope when she "knights" Simon, the sword slips and she cuts his ear off.

The Miss USA Pageant is investigating claims that Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih won a stripper contest in 2007. She reportedly took home jewelry, gift cards, adult toys, a stripper pole for home use and a bra stuffed with dollar bills. A Detroit radio station sponsored the contest. A source close to the Miss USA pageant tells RadarOnline.com, "This is not a big deal and isn’t going to affect her crown. Miss USA Rima Fakih is a great representative of Miss USA." Former Stafford H.S. graduate and Marine Sgt. Donald J. Lamar II, was killed in action Wednesday, May 12th, at the age of 23, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lamar family.
A scholarship fund has been set up for his daughter. The "Madison in Memory of Sgt. Donald Lamar" fund is at Union First Market Bank. Donations can be given at any branch.

Homemade Acne Remedies That Work

Most homemade remedies don't work very well, but according to Reader's Digest, these do. Here are three strange acne remedies that can clear up your skin . . .

#1.) ASPIRIN. This is good if you only get the OCCASIONAL zit. Crush up one pill, add a few drops of water, and rub it on. Wait a few minutes, then wash it off with soap and water. The aspirin should get rid of the redness and reduce the pain.

#2.) TOOTHPASTE. You might have heard this one before. That's because it WORKS, but only if you do it right. First, it has to be a PASTE, not a gel. And it can't be whitening toothpaste.

Second, you have to leave it on all night. The toothpaste needs time to dehydrate the pimple and suck up all the oil.

#3.) OLIVE OIL. It sounds weird to put oil on your face, since an oily face is usually associated with pimples. But people swear this one works. Mix three tablespoons of olive oil with four tablespoons of salt until it becomes a paste.

Then just rub it all over your face. The salt exfoliates your skin, and the olive oil restores your skin's natural moisture.

No Arms, No Kneecaps, No Problem

Wow...32-year-old Sheila Radziewicz (--pronounced 'Rad-zuh-wich' lives in Peabody, Massachusetts (--about a half-hour north of Boston). And as a result of a congenital birth defect, she was born without arms or kneecaps, and with her feet facing toward each other.

It's a condition called 'TAR' syndrome. (--That's short for thrombuh-SEE-toh-PEHnya with Absent Radius.) And it means that while Sheila has hands and fingers, they're at the base of her torso by her shoulders, where her arms would have started.

But she's had success with surgeries and leg braces, and three years ago, she started taking martial arts. And next month she'll test for her black belt in Taekwondo.

Obviously, some of her training is different to accommodate her condition. But that might not mean what you think. For instance, when she's demonstrating her use of nunchucks, Sheila sometimes uses her teeth to grip the weapon. (???)

Oh, and she drives a specially-designed car with only her feet, and works as an advocate in the court system for women who've been victims of domestic violence.

It coordinates the construction of new homes, or adapts existing ones, for handicapped accessibility. 22 year old Sgt. Kiernan is one of the US Marienes that hopes the program can help him out. He chose a lot off U.S. 17 in Stafford.

No More Excuses!!!

f you hate working out, you'll make all sorts of excuses to skip the gym. Here are five common exercise excuses and how to beat them . . .

#1.) "I DON'T HAVE TIME." Check out a website called ExcerciseTV.tv. It's got hundreds of "Mini Workouts" that are anywhere from one to four minutes long. They're perfect if you have a short attention span when it comes to working out.

--It doesn't sound like a lot, and you're supposed to get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise each week, but the "Mini Workouts" can add up.

#2.) "I DON'T KNOW HOW." If you don't even know where to start, go online. On websites like FreeTrainers.com, you can enter your fitness level, your goals, and the type of equipment you're using, and it'll give you a customized workout plan.

#3.) "HOME EQUIPMENT IS TOO EXPENSIVE." Some of the big workout machines are thousands of dollars. But you don't really need all that stuff.

--You can get a solid workout with one set of dumbbells, which cost about $30, and one of those big bouncy exercise balls, which cost about $20.

#4.) "I DON'T LIKE WORKING OUT ALONE." On MeetUp.com and ExerciseFriends.com, you can type in your zip code and find people who are looking for someone to go jogging with, or biking, or rowing . . . basically anything.

--You can even type in specific things like "hiking with your dog."

#5.) "I HATE IT." If you just can't stand working out, you have to find a way to make it fun. If your kid already has a Nintendo Wii, look no further.

--You'll have to buy the Wii Fit Balance Board, which is $100, but once you've got it, you can do more than 60 activities, like strength training, ski jumping, or just the hula hoop. If you DON'T have a Nintendo Wii, a new one will cost you $200. But think of how much fun you'll have!
